Other 3D Printing Projects

SIDE PROJECTS AND OTHER COOL THINGS

Like everyone else, I'm still learning, but these are some of the things I've done for fun or profit.

My First 3D Printer

I bought my first printer, a MakerGear M2, for fun and for an upcoming robotics prototyping project

Freelance Design and Printing

Done a few paid projects and looking for more

I finally bought a printer of my own – a MakerGear M2. Features include heated glass bed, support for every filament(s) you could ever want, solid build, and darn fine print quality. The fact that it has my initials (MG) plastered all over it wasn’t lost on me either. After hosting a demo as part of the Purdue 3D Printing Club, I also purchased Simplify 3D printing software (cannot rate highly enough!) In addition to printing the typical widgets and my own prototypes, I’ve also done a couple paid projects for people such as the one below.

Consulting Project: Sensor Box

A friend had designed a electrical sensor control assembly for a company she was working with and it needed a home. Having already done something similar as part of SIGBOTS, it gave me my first real project with my new printer. Both my customer and hers were very happy with the results.

  • Wall mounted, water spray resistant (PLA)
  • Snap on lid featuring customer logo
  • Translucent side insert showing power status (PETG)
